The unit was developed to destroy the original SARS-CoV-1 virus and was tested by the Phillips Marburg university’s institute of Virology in 2004 where it was proven to reduce the infectiousness to below the level of detection within a minute. The unit was also tested by Phillips university on the H1N1 virus in 2009 and reduced the level of infectiousness below the level of detection in 0.5 seconds.
The unit has not yet been tested on the latest SARS-CoV-2 (COVID- 19) virus but expectations are that it would achieve a similar level of performance to the original SARS-CoV-1 virus.
The VIROXX unit is designed to treat the air in room volumes up to 150 m3, and incorporates a 5-stage process including pre-filtration, UV-C photochemical section, Catalytic filter, HEPA filter and ionisation section.
The unit is wheel mounted for easy relocation, it does not require any special installation – simply plug in and switch on.
Suitable for offices, meeting rooms, reception areas, GP waiting rooms, care homes etc.
