Project Information
Background:
Dagenham is a brand new food waste to energy AD facility currently under construction for ReFood UK Ltd, the facility has been designed to accept commercial and industrial food waste from London and the south east. Greenlane Biogas have been awarded the contract for providing the biogas upgrading plant including the odour control package for the residual waste biogas.
Application:
Once the biomethane has been scrubbed to remove the carbon dioxide and other impurities it is fed into the grid, there is a separate waste air stream that contains residual hydrogen sulphide that also needs to be treated to remove the potential for odour release to atmosphere.
Solution:
Design, manufacture, supply, install, test and commission a desulphurisation system to remove H2S from the residual waste gas stream post upgrading plant. The system consists of 1 No. Kombi- Skrub™ BiOC biological trickling filter to remove up to 90% of the hydrogen sulphide load prior to the waste gas being passed through 2 No. activated carbon filters to further reduce and polish the remaining odours.
Performance:
Commissioning expected Spring 2017.
Project Data:
Flow rate: 2,860 - 3,580m3/hr
Odour in: 1,200ppm H2S maximum, 120ppm H2S average
Footprint: 82.5m2
