Project Information
Background:
Leyland WWTW had undergone modification to its sludge plant. This included new storage vessels and upgrades to the associated process plant.
Application:
WWTW site requiring odour control for the screened sludge storage tank, thickened sludge storage tank, liquor pumping station and 2 off drum thickeners.
Solution:
Design, manufacture, supply, install, test and commission a turnkey biological odour control system. A two stage system the first stage comprising 1 off vessel containing moistened lava rock media, to eliminate the majority of the H2S, with the second stage a dry activated carbon polishing filter to remove the remainder.
Performance:
Successful reduction in odour units to below the agreed 500 OU/m3 at outlet.
Project Data:
Flow Rate: 3537 m3/hr
Odour Challenge – In: 11ppm H2S and other odours
Odour Challenge – Out: 98% odour removal of H2S and <500 OU/m3
Footprint: 90m2
