Chemical Desulphurisation
An innovative, skid mounted, 3 stage system that absorbs and then converts very high levels of H2S into water and elemental sulphur. The reactions are promoted by a suspension of sub-micron sized iron based particles. The solid sulphur is filtered out of the solution and the filtrate is recycled back to the process to capture more H2S. This process dramatically reduces the amount of reagent and water consumption compared with other systems.
Benefits
- Treats very high H2S loads - >99% H2S abatement
- Adapts immediately to variable flows and load (unlike Biological systems)
- Low capital cost
- Low operational costs
- Minimal waste output
- Minimal water consumption
- Low Non Hazardous reagent consumption
Operation
- If ammonia and amines are present in a gas stream a first stage acid stage scrubber followed by a two stage alkaline process is required
- Predominantly acidic gas streams will be passed through a two stage scrubbing process
- When alkaline and acidic gases are present a three stage system consisting of all of the above will be used
