Liquid Solid Separation - Sludge Dewatering

The Fluiteco SD screw press utilises a screw to compress and dewater sludges to provide a sludge cake of up to 25% dry solids. Screw presses are generally more energy efficient and require less maintenance than sludge centrifuges.

Fluiteco Sludge Screw Press

There are 5 model sizes in the range capable of handling flows from 1.1 to 21 m³/hr.

Sludge is fed into the machine where it is compressed and transported along a wedge wire screen. At the same time, counter pressure is applied from the other end of the press to further compress the material and squeeze out liquid through the screen mesh. The entire screen is kept clean by a spray bar that traverses backwards and forwards over the screen length.

Benefits

  • High dewatering efficiency
  • Compact footprint
  • Low energy consumption
  • Low maintenance costs
  • Low noise level
  • Operational flexibility for changes in sludge characteristics

Applications

  • Municipal sludge dewatering
  • Industrial sludge dewatering
